Omega 8000

Cache Man not sure what you mean by resetting the Omega, any further information on whats happening or what its doing that makes you ask about resetting something on it...Markmac

it sounds worse than my f-70 it needs to be rebooted because its not the coil because its noisy with booth coils that or send it in for repair, I also know its not EMI because my f-70 is quiet, in other it is spitting and spluttering (noisy) . HH :detecting:

That's funny the turd I talked to said that there was NO way to reset the Omega, I must have talked to the wrong engineer.he must not have gotten that important revised update just turn it off problem solved, pardon me if I take his word over yours unless you work for first Texas. HH:detecting:

There are a number of differences that can cause "noisy" operation. I am finding the Omega to be a very sensitive detector and EMI and noisy operation can vary over just a short distance. I hit one school, huning withing 40 feet, and it ran quiet at a Sensitivity setting of 99. Another school up the road and I had to drop it to about 61 as the EMI in that area was terrible. I then hunted a rural location and could run at 99 again, but i the tiny nearby town (population under 900, I had some EMI issues.

There are certain parks and other sites around Portland, Oregon (NOT small) that I have hunted for years with a variety of makes and models that have some EMI problems .... during certain times of the day or certain days of the week.

I would have some patience and get a hold of First Texas to resolve the problem.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but First Texas bought Fisher correct? I am asking to see if Fisher and first Texas and Teknetics all have their own Support centers or if all calls are routed through First Texas? I ask this because I e-mailed Fisher about EMI and the F5, next day I had a response from a Sylvia at Fisher Customer Service telling me she had forwarded my e-mail to a technician and she would wait for the technicians response. 5 days later I re-mailed Sylvia asking if she had heard anything from the Technician yet, Next day Sylvia told me she sent my phone # to the Technician and he would call me to discuss the problem. 2 days later Sylvia sent me a follow up E-mail to check and see if the Technician had called, I responded no phone call from Fisher or their Technician and to just forget about it, I told her she was great in responding to my E-mail but Fisher and their Techs were lousy in my book, have never heard back from either Sylvia or fisher techs. So much for customer service from Fisher in my Book. I called Tesoro once about an issue and it was solved in a matter of minutes not weeks. I've also heard Garretts customer service is top notch as well. I'm considering another detector and was tossing the idea of an Omega around as well as kicking the idea of either a T2 Special edition or F75 Special edition but this customer service has me thinking twice about it, and actually thinking of going to another company. Hope other have better luck than I have had with First Texas/Teknetics/Fisher customer service.
