Omega gets a Mercedes Benz!:teknetics:

Hit the woods this morning for the first time with the Omega and was swinging it with the 10" concentric coil, no disc. d4 tones and max sen. And, she ran quite as a mouse.

This is actually my 3rd woods hunt in the last few days, but the first with the Omega. Although brush conditions are not yet the most ideal, with several nights that the temps. dipped below freezing it did put all the woods creatures and bugs into hibernation. Temp. this morning was hovering around the freezing mark with a nice brisk north wind. Which, is o.k. for woods hunting.

All in all, I managed to un-earth several keeper targets, which included some clad and Memorials, 5 pieces of lead, 3 wheat cents, (30, 34d & 54) 2 silver dimes, (17s & 48d) a 3 Merry Widows container and the Mercedes Benz item, which I think is a buckle. It rang up 92-94 and I had hopes for maybe a large silver. It was 5" deep.

The woods hunting season has begun. HH jim tn

Good job Jim. Nice finds.......

Good gosh, Jim. Wife sent me out for milk this morning and about froze my best parts off. TriCities was cold as heck with that wind. Now...........if I had some good scotch, maybe.....:detecting:

Nice haul.

Thats a nice pic of a very good hunt!...little targets, big targets, some old, some new, and some silver in between...you owe it to us loyal followers of 'jimtn' to stay out and hunting to keep us entertained...after all, you are a MN kid, so I am hoping this cold wont stop you from hunting in the balmy weather of TN.. .Still, I wouldnt blame you one bit for staying indoors, it sure is some damn cold this week in all the States...make a few short runs for our benefit though if you would please..:please:.
Mud.

As long as I can dig and have a couple of hand warmer pacs, I'll be out. 23 or 24 this morning when I started out. Nice in the woods with no wind. Ground good and soft. 1 1906 I H and a couple of period lead pieces was the best I could do with the Omega this morning. Stay warm everyone. HH jim tn
