Went out yesterday with the 11 inch coil for test hit my test coin two things I noticed vs the G2 sweep speed sensitive to hit the deeper coin in my test garden plus it seems to be more sensitive to electrical interference less with 5x10.Today I wanted to see how it compared in a nail festation where a v nickle wheaties and indians were found in the nails.Settigs disc.15 to here iron grunt Gain 70,G.B. 67.N ote this is a hunted hard erea but managed to pluck 1977 penny in the nails which gave me confidence the 8000 could hold its own.Proceeded to the woods where out houses used to be in the late 1800s,turned the gain 80 nice sound 83 vdi dug a 1888 indian head.Correct me if Im wrong the G2 seems to have a faster processer and less sensitive to E.I.however the 8000 has a little depth advantage, and the 5x10 coil is no slouch. In the woods it was very quiet and found myself enjoying the machine.CEDARSWAMP

V.D.I.s are running high in this particular ground out of ground normal this nickle hit on 60 it was found about 20 yrds from the indian also found a round ball.Finds come slow and far in between but it was a great day in the woods first snow no acumilation.CEDARSWAMP

The Omega has a higher sensitivity and will go deeper than the G2, provided excessive EMI is not interfering with the Omega. Here's a little bench test by Earthmansurfer:

"I know air tests don't say a lot but I did air tests on all of my machines...G2 at full sensitivity don't hit as deep as the Omega 8000 set at 55.I set both machines as high as I could for testing inside and still be stable. Actually, the Omega with sens set at 55 was hitting coins as deep as my MXT Pro (set to +2 almost max sens) was in air tests indoors. I was very happy with those results. I've never had a machine that would go nuts at high sens settings like the Omega does and was worried I wouldnt get the depth due to using a much lower setting...however I was very wrong."
