Omega/Sharpshooter Coil Are A Perfect Match.:teknetics:

So far so good. I just got the NEL Sharpshooter coil today for my Omega and did a little brief testing around the yard with it. It's frigging cold outside.

It runs a lot quieter than the 11 inch DD coil does. Even quieter than the 10 inch concentric coil does. It might be because of its beefier coil cable shields EMI better.

The depth seems really good as well. I bet I'll be posting some finds here with it pretty soon.

Well if I can ever put the T2SE/Sharpshooter down I will.:)

tabman, what size is that NEL Sharpshooter coil you have for the Omega? It sounds interesting, and I think there may be a dealer out here now selling them. Thanks, Pete
 
@Furious T,the NEL Sharpshooter coil is 9.5''x5.5'' i use one on the T2 and it does not come off the detector its that good.

I've heard some good things about how well the Sharpshooter coil works on a T2.:)

May I join in -- I am the proud owner of a Fisher F70 and recently bought a NEL Sharpshooter and love it. If you like the pinpointing ability of the 11"DD you are going to love this one too. It responds to all of the settings and the feed back is like that of the Fisher coils so there is no learning curve that I can see. It is excellent for poking in and around things, bush, tables, post, whatever and it has enough volume surface to do some pretty quick open field work. I too have dug up thing as 7". I am going to try using the Notching feature with it and see how it handles that, but for now, I would buy it again. BUT, I bought one for my loaner (my wife's machine) an F2 and sent it back right away, it did not do well on that lower level machine, don't know why, it had less depth and false readings were off the scale. Only had it three days and sent it back. Tested it against the stock 10" coil of the F2 and the 10" coil was winner hands down. So, the Sharpshooter proved a great coil for my F70 but not so much for my F2. A small bonus when purchasing one of these is that they come with a coil cover. After seeing this video http://www.findmall.com/read.php?58,2017930 I would stay with a reputable dealer when buying. I got mine from Colonial for $120 free shipping -- Not working for them but apparently there is only a couple of place right now that you an find these available. Peace, Dan
