Omega the Tejon of the Teknetics line?

Just wondering why the Omega seems to have a much greater turn over than any of the other machines in the Teknetics line, seems like ppl buy them, only keep them for a couple of weeks to a month then sell/trade them for something else. I haven't had mine long but its been easy to learn to operate and the EMI problem depends on where I'm hunting, the last 3 hunts I've been able to set the sens in the high 80's to mid 90's, at the park I've been hunting even my Cibola chatters if I set the sens higher than 10. I don't really like the elliptical coil, it just doesn't "seem" to cover as much ground as the stock concentric on my Cibola, and I can pinpoint much better and faster with the concentric but then I've had lots more practice with that coil to since its the same one that came on my DeLeon, but as I keep using the Omega I am getting better so I've just got to keep practicing with it. So those of you that have had the Omega and gotten rid of it if you don't mind sharing what caused you to get rid of it? HH Jimmie

Hey diggin.I almost sold mine but I decided that it was to gud of a machine to get rid of.
I have never had to turn the sensitivity below 70 or so and that is unde power lines.
Most of my hunting is done in the middle of nowhere so I can run it purty high.

The omega is a top notch machine.
The standard coil I absolutly hate.Got the 11 dd and the 5 inch dd .They are top notch

I have never been able to run mine up past 75 with either the 10" concentric or the 11" DD. I just got a new 11" cause my first one wouldn't ground balance right. Whether i am in town or in the middle of a 60 acre field makes no difference. No going past 75 on the sensitivity. It does get a little frustrating when you hear people saying they are running in the 90s on theirs. I may keep it or try and trade it for a MXT. The jury is still out on that.

I know what your saying was worried a bit about mine at first until I started finding places I could turn it up and it still not chatter. I wish I had been able to keep my DeLeon so that I could have done a side by side comparison with it, like you I'm not sure this is going to be a keeper but I won't know for sure till I use it the rest of this year, especially if I can get at least a 5" DD coil for it. Interesting reading this topic I bought the Omega over this winter after reading and researching how quiet the machine was with the sensitivity way up, also owned the Deleon but wanted a machine that I could ground balance in fresh water beach conditions. Well sold the Deleon to get the Omega, at the present time where I live the ground is thawing with patches of snow and I have been hunting around the patches and like what you are saying my machine isn't as quite and can not adjust my sens into the 70's just to unstable my limited hunts might be ground conditions at this time but with spring on its way I will be out hunting more so time will tell I am also ordering up the G2 so we will see how it is.
