Omega warranty

How do you file for the 5 year warranty for the Omega? I didn't see any mail in card with the information provided... thanks

There's no warranty card to send in---but---DON'T loose your purchase receipt.-----If you have work done under warranty, that's the first thing FT asks for--a copy of the purchase receipt.-----Five year warranty is only good for the original purchaser.

Well that was very easy to do... The ver 6 has the embedded ser # that comes up when you first turn on the machine.

Out of interest its great having a 5 year warranty but can it be transfered to another person ??? or does it have some form of cop out clause in the small print that the warranty only applies to the original owner.Can anyone clarify this one please.

Relatively few electronics products have a transferrable warranty, but metal detectors seem to be an exception. Minelab, XP and Garrett offer transferrable warranties. Not sure about Whites or Makro/Fors.

Tesoro (lifetime) and First Texas (Bounty Hunter, Teknetics and Fisher - 5 year) limit their warranty to the original owner. This is clearly stated in the printed warranty where it states that the warranty is limited to the original owner.

Outside the US, the warranty terms might be different. The local distributor or authorized dealer would know.
