I kind of hate to mention something as trivial as football while so many of my friends here on the forum are in such need of prayer and concern, but I HAVE prayed and will continue to. Just wanted to say that I have been kicked back in my recliner almost all day enjoying some college football, SEC style... the only kind there is as far as I'm concerned. Nothing like Saturday's in the fall! Trade Day in the early mornings and football the rest of the day! However, we are apparently in the midst of monsoon season here in Alabama and I didn't get to go to Trade Day. It has RAINED for days... WEEKS! Lots of flooding in the state. Just wrapped up watching my Alabama Crimson Tide put a whoppin on North Texas, and fixin' to watch the Tennessee/Florida game. Love me some Tennessee football! I'm sure the Gators will put a hurtin' on my Vols, but I guess there's always hope.

7centsworth, y'all have got a real barn burner going on there in Kentucky!

I was at work working overtime, but they let us listen to the radio on saturdays. I thought we had it by a mile and then our turn overs, Then I was getting ticked , we only had one lulville fan on our line so it wasn't to bad then we came back and won , Then I was yelling woooooooo!!!!! so everyone new we won. I hope we play better against sec teams or we are going to get killed. Congrats to Alabama. Travis

Well....UT at least let them know they were in a game.

At least some of them college players still play for the game. Seems once they hit the big time they forget about just playing the game. That is why I like watching high school and college games more than pro ball, tho I do watch some pro games.

That's ok, we need a little lighter side now and then. Who is your favorite pro team?

Well, Lisa, Ma doesn't have much to say on this subject as footfall isn't my cup of tea or games to watch, but I'm glad you are sittin' back and relaxin' and enjoyin' your time at home! I saw on the weather channel where there was lots of rain down your way and the weather person said, "Be careful for what you pray for, for if there's too much rain there will be lots of flooding! If it does, wait for the coins and goodies to float to the top and then get out there and carefully pick up all the precious metals and gems!  This has always been a joke between my friend, Liz and I! She still belongs to the MD'ing Club and the hunt is tomorrow.....and guess what? It is supposed to rain or at least have scattered showers! It was raining here a little this evening and still raining into the night! :) God Bless! Betty

Well, all of my life, up until a few years ago, Alabama was top notch with one of the best records in all of football. Then, things went terribly wrong! Poor coaching, no discipline, no pride, and they just didn't have the will or fire that Bama used to have. We ALL were very disappointed, disgusted, embarrassed, etc. But before the beginning of of the 08 season last year, we were able to snag Nick Sabin! We were figuring on a couple of years of rebuilding the program but were pleasantly surprised to go through the regular season undefeated last year!!! Sat in the #1 spot for most of the season!!! Hoping for more of the same this year but guess we'll have to wait and see what happens here in the Sabin Nation.

Yeah, just wish we could've pulled off the upset. Nothing makes me happier than to see Florida get busted, especially in The Swamp... unless it's seeing Auburn get smeared, anytime, any place, anyhow! I'm still singing Rocky Top, even if they didn't win.

Me too!!!! High School & College/SEC is where it's at for me. Couldn't care less about pro ball. I can get mildly interested during the playoffs if it involves teams I have a slight interest in... like Green Bay.

Lisa

Green Bay Packers & Washington Redskins. The Patriots are okay too, but I think I like them simply because our high school is the West End Patriots.

We've sure had A LOT of rain the past few weeks, and especially the last few days. Lots and lots of flooding around here. I can here it pouring out there right now. I'll be sure to keep my eyes open for the goodies floating to the top! The biggest problem around here right now with things floating up is the snakes that are being flooded out of there holes. We have lots of snakes here anyway, but when it rains like this, they get washed out and are definitely on the move... or on the swim.

Lisa

Well I'm glad y'all won! However, on October the 3rd, you and I will be enemies. :starwars: Well, not really, but you know what I mean. Alabama plays Kentucky that day. All in fun.... maybe....

Lisa

Well, Lisa, that is why ya need to be careful, but if there are snakes floated or swimmin' around, ya won't find me out there at all, me and snakes just don't get along!  God Bless! Betty

Well, I haven't had any to float around ME, but there are some areas, not so far away, that have had them float around them! I've just seen a lot more of them out on the roads, the yards, etc. I DO NOT like snakes either, Ma! Nor lizards! One thing good that has come from all the rain is the fact that the temperatures have been sooooooo much cooler the past 3+ weeks or so.

Lisa

I don't have high hopes for that game if we have turn overs on yall we will be the ones getting smeared . Still can't wait to watch it.

Well, you never know. It just might be the other way around with Kentucky doing the smearing! I HOPE that isn't the case  but you never can tell. I'll wait until it's a little closer to game time before talking smack! Gotta see how the Tide does between now and then! Don't want to dig myself a hole to have to climb out of in case Bama doesn't pull it off! Ha!

Lisa

Go Kentucky?????????? Do WHAT????????????? RICK!!!!!!!!!!! I thought we were buds!!!!! :sadwalk: That's okay, "buddy," you go right ahead and pull for those Wildcats. We'll discuss this further when the TIDE ROLLs into Lexington, Kentucky on October 3rd.
