On a Roll

Got out for 1.5hrs before the snow storm hits & it was best 1.5hr hunt I ever had. Scored 2 Mercs & a Rosie. My very 1st target was the 28 Merc. A few months ago I never would have dug that Rosie signal, it was just a real short chirp but sounded good high tone, must have been on edge because it was only 4" deep. I'm still learning but getting better all the time. All 3 of these were only about 4". Also passed my silver take of 20 last year(my 1st yr MDing) now at 21 for the year, I know its not sqwat compared to some of you guys, but I'm happy with it, considering most of my silvers come from public ground that has been pounded hard.

I'd say thats pretty darn good........where are you at? The silver is kinda black in color. Must be the soil in the part of country your in.

In NJ, not all silver comes out black, usually if it's near wet ground it will tarnish like that. here they are cleaned up with a baking soda rub

Ahhh! Very nice......:)

Nice finds.Any silver found is exciting. Here in north east Pa. I also get some silvers that are black.Baking soda rub makes them shine.HH
