Iam going to have the coil cable on my 2 sov coils cut to lenght. Now the big question is can I re-use the coil connectors?I have a S12 and a 7.25 BBS coil. Now before I get the electronic shop to chop them is there anything else I need to know, except cutting them too short. Now if I can"t re-use the connectors where can I buy "em.I have to also cut a piece off of my DTI 3 meter(cause it broken near the connector and it falses like crazy when I move it from left to right)) is this connector also re-useable?Thanks Marc

It is just a matter of resoldering the harness to the connector, your other connector is reusable too....Geo

if I wanted to lenghtened the cable in the future I wonder if a splice with connectors would do?Thanks again...

as long as the solder points were good, probably a better solution would be to make an extension cable with the proper connectors on both ends, so save the cable length that you remove for that purpose, once the shop where the work is being done sees the type of connectors used, they could get you some or make the cable up for you...HH..Geo

Radio shack carries them and a lot of other stores on the internet. I bought a bunchfrom a supply house for music equipment. I believe they are called microphone connectors.

Hey Marc, I cut 50" from both my 8" & 10" coils. Left my WOT full length for water hunting. I reused the same connectors. You don't need to bring those to an electronic shop. Invest in a solder gun <img src="/metal/html/grin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":grin"> <img src="/metal/html/tongue.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":b">

a solder gun and flux ..s if I frig it up can I go cry on your shoulder??LOL..do you still have them pics of the colour code for the wires ?Email me your home # will give you a call

I cut the wires at the conector and left some of the wire with the color on them, so I could desolder and resolder one at a time and knew where they went.If using new conectors it still will work as you know where each color went as the pins are numbered.
Rick
