Wondering if anyone has run one of these that has a pace maker. I like what i'm reading and saving penny's.But am wondering if this will effect my pace maker because of the wireless and high freq...

Skid, I would think that in order to be marketed in the U.S. the Deus has to meet the same electronic standards as domestic mfg's of detectors using wireless/non-wireless setups. It would be best to contact the U.S. distributor of Deus on this question. If they don't know I am sure they can contact XP Deus and get a answer for you. Europeans have a history of being pretty careful about health concerns regarding their manufactured products.

You are correct - the Deus had to be meet FCC regulations to be imported . . . . and this is one aspect that is addressed in the certification. The other XP detectors have not been approved and is one reason they are not currently available officially in the US.

A good question. According to Deus's site, the frequency it uses is 2.4Ghz, which is a standard frequency used by mobile telephones and 802.11 wifi. The limited range of the Deus tells me that it transmits at a much lower power setting than your home wifi router or mobile telephone. According to all the pacemaker sites I read, you can use your cellular phone, or mobile telephone. They just warn to try and keep the transmitter 6" away from the pacemaker (12" if you have a phone that transmits at a higher 3 watts of power) Also, knowing that most hospitals currently have wifi access, I'd say that you are probably okay running the much lower powered Deus wearing a pacemaker.
