Returned to one of my "go to" spots today for the first time in 2011. I had silver on my mind, but you can't find
it if ya don't get the coil over it:punch:
I did manage to get a couple Wheaties in between a few older clads.

Several hours after that wheatie, I still hadn't found anything too impressive.
I made my way out of the woods and into the lawn area I have to cross to get to my truck.
I've found some old coins in that grass, so I figured I'd give it a go. This lawn is iron infested.
My rule here is if it repeats in the positive....dig it.

Well, I dug the few repeatables I came across and ended up with one keeper.
This thing was only down 4 or 5 inches, it should have been a cinch,
yet, the detector was all over the place with positive and negative vdi's.
This is what I saw when I finally located it.

One of the best preserved Large Cents I've ever dug:super:
All I did was brush it with a dry toothbrush.
