Remember years ago when people were afraid they were getting brain tumors because the radio waves were traveling through their skull into the phone???? What ever became of that, anyway???? Have you guys ever gotten your head to close to your coil while recovering a target and heard that loud ass humming coming from the coil itself, so loud in fact you could here it through your head phones over your threshold????? Isn't that output (then 10 inches from your noggin) like 18 bazillion times more than a cell phone tower 4 point 3 miles away???:goodnight: Might just be a real good plan pointing that coil as far away from your beaner as possible. Just a thought, or my brain tumor in my cerebrum putting pressure on me right lobe.:stars:

some supercharged high pitched screamin' inside your melon!! Holy cow do I know what you're talking about:biggrin: I hope that's not why my eyes have gotten so bad the last year or so:shrug:

Digitrich I've got a buddy who has Parkinson's disease,
he had a deep brain probe inserted in his head to control his shakes via a defibrillator.
He was told to stay clear of any strong radio frequencies, arc welder etc, as the defibrillator will be effected by the electro magnetic or radio waves....

This man loves his detecting!

So he bought himself an RF detection meter from the States.
We found that some detectors produce enough RF to kick the needle into the danger zone when close enough to the coil.
This could be a problem when you crouch to hand feed your dirt over the coil.

By far the biggest effect was produced by the Minelab Sovereign and Explorer... He cannot use these detectors.

My Tesoros were nice and low ( Cortes and Cibola )
and his weapon of choice his Garrett GTI 2500 was ok too.

Doe's this mean you will glow in the dark, at least the wife will be able to find you in the park at night. LOL HH bob

If the machine is on and you move the coil close to your head with headphones on you will hear it. Press noise cancel and the hum you hear the pitch change. You can hear it cycle through the ten steps.

Chris

Yeah Snowy, you hear that humming sound and it's like you're standing next some kind of transformer. Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining that my coil hums with it's awesome detecting power, well not yet, until I grow an eleventh tumor toe or something anyway.:surprised:

Do you roll over when one side is done or do you finish the hunt half baked? I never realized that the sound was actually coming through the headphones as well. I put on those headphones and I'm totally oblivious to the world around me.

I work around 132kv most days, so I will not worry to much about this, but I will keep the coil away from my head, its mostly full of pull tabs anyway.:pulltab:

Mike:beers:

Yeah, just ask Tinfoil, he does'nt have to pay for cable and doesn't need a radar detector:rofl:

No I don't pay for cable Pat does. I pay for DirectV. No I don't have Radar I drive the speed limit + or - 5 mph. Used to have a sign on the back of my old Motorhome that said. I drive 55 and if you don't like that you should have left sooner. . Later HH back to lurking. Jerry aka Tinfoil
