This was my last find of 2003 at a very early homesite that went back to colonial times. It does not appear that old....we were thinking early hair piece maybe?? Seems too feminine for a suspender piece...Any ideas <img src="/metal/html/confused.gif" border=0 width=15 height=22 alt=":?">

Used on lightweight cloth belts of the period. Nice find, David @ Dixie

Dan is right about the cloth. Interesting is the defined word Sachet: Scented. I wonder if these belts weren't perfumed while worn?

You see a of young girls wearing those buckles in cabinet card photo's of the second half of the 1800's. A lot a children wore them.

I should have mentioned that these belts where wornn about the waste and had a fancy bow tied at the end most of the times. You may be able to find an example of a young girl wearing one of these belts on an eBay photo. Usual worn in conjuction with a dress.

if i have an idea how do i get it to the right personnell to get paid proper for it?
thx
