my wife and I were taking boomer to get groomed yesterday-about 8 miles from our house,we went by a bunch of trees when I spotted what I thought was a black plastic bag stuck in the top of one tree-IMAGINE my surprise when it turned out to be a full-size wild turkey that hung itself by the neck in the crotch of the tree,a good 20 feet off the ground...TOTALLY creepy-dont see things like that every day!!dont know how he accomplished that-there were no branches parallel to the ground for it to land on;must have been blown into it or something-Been REAL WINDY around here lately....

Hard way to go. Sad. I know turkeys roost in trees - not sure which kind though.

That is so sad; too bad accidents like that happen .

Sure is sad and an odd happening but the winds have been very strong at times.....gusting up to 60 or more miles per hour! Could have been blown into it and hung him or herself!

God Bless!

My father grew up on a farm, he said that turkeys were the dumbest animals that ever lived. The turkey pen was chain link fence, the turkeys would stick their head through a hole, and when they tried to get it out, they would go through another hole and strangle them self's. They put chicken wire on the inside of the pen to stop them from killing them self's!!!!
