One thing I am noticing in these posts are slight variations in the responses from SE and older Explorer owners

Obviously, there are improvements and changes to the new SE and allot of posts are blending three different answers from three different machines. Then everyone says "that's just the way it goes different settings work for different people in different areas, soils, and mineralization". I think that's a convenient answer when nobody knows the right answer. These are machines based on math, now I've detected with my SE in four states a thousand miles apart from one another with like settings and amazingly I got the same responses in the same manner, not exact, but pretty darn close, so I'm not buying this whole different soil , way different settings/results deal; in rare circumstances yes, in general, heck no. I think allot of it is we are discussing three totally different machines like there the same thing and they are not. I know this would be a pain in the arse but how about we add a space after our names and then the initials of our machines like (digitrich SE) then anyone who saw my post would know instantly with out even opening it that I am talking from an SE point of reference and maybe that won't strictly apply to his XS? :super: How do you change your name on this forum and would we loose our messages and history?

I had to contact administrator. I don't think they'd be happy to change everyones.

Say Digitrich, couldn't you just re-join as a new member?
Maybe call yourself Digitrich SE...
You would have to come up with a new password.

What if we added a signature to our posting like this......

Thats probablly the best way to do it. Just start your post with the letters for your machine. Good idea! I've noticed the same thing you have about different machines while posting and reading post.

Hey all, we have the smiley Icons to add "color" to our messages - so wouldn't it be something the administrator can add? We could have different Icons section for different detectors, and just click on the one we want and add it - say to the end of your user name - WHEN you want to (maybe sometimes you wouldn't).

I have three detectors (2 are Minelabs and the primary's, but I could add it when I want to, and not if I don't. If we make it part of something more permanent - it will - just that as from what I'm reading a few of you have more than two of the model type.

We have the Smiley's, how about another group for the different detectors, shouldn't be too hard as this IS the Minelab Explorer Forum, and you would only have to add a few and put it before the Smiley Icon?

Anyone think that would work? For the time being - I WILL use some of the other suggestions and add it after my user name.

Annnnnnnnnnnnd Keep Wide Eyed and Wide Open.

One would think that it wouldn't be too hard to make something up like a small Flag with S,XS,EX 2, or SE in it. That would be great to see just how many people here are posting with what type of Explorer. Maybe something to look into. Great Idea Krusty!

Yeah but the problem is, we all would have to do it for it to work. Digitrich SE Mikes idea of a signature at the end of the post is probably simplest and we could also put it in the subject line like "sensitivity issue SE"

Hey folks...

I entered "My control center" went to "edit profile" and then selected "edit signature" there I added Explorer SE...

This worked for Snowy.:smoke:
