got up at 5 AM to get set up for the yard sale. We planned on opening our doors at 9 AM but by that time we still had a lot more to put out and still hadn't gotten the signs out to the roads so people knew we were having a sale.
Dispite the lack of publicity of our sale (not advertised in the newspaper or on our local internet garage sales newsgroup) we still had a good turn out.
We got rid of a lot of items - but still don't have the garage back and we still have items outside sitting under a tarp. God gave us a great day for the sale and we even had a fellow CMD forum Brother in Christ come to our home...and we went out detecting too.
Steve (warthog) got there at our sale before closing and helped us get things back into the garage. Thank you Steve. We appreciate the help more than we can say.
Once we had the sale stuff packed away it was time to take Steve over to the Stone School. Gave him a choice of hitting the school property or going to the field next door that the school kid's had used for a ball field. We went to the open field.
Here is Steve swinging the Green Machine at the far back of the field.

To give you an idea of how much area there is to cover in this field. Here is a pic of the area. I was at the mid point of the field and all the way to one side.

And Steve was at the back of the field (taken from the same position):

I guess I was a little more tired than I thought. Ever walk an area for about 25 yards then realize the coil is not detecting the ground...the X-1 probe on the Minelab was switched in the pinpointer position. Doh.
Well did get a lot of iron and some mangled brass sheeting but no coins.
The rain that had been predicted for the past several days and held off finally arrived so we ended our swinging for the day. Steve didn't leave empty handed:

He got a many Wheaties. (Let us know what dates you got Steve.)
I was glad to have an opportunity to detect with Steve. That is a big field for just one guy to cover...and I have water places that need my attention too.
In fact, the other day I met a hotel owner...his hotel is on the beach at waters edge and he told me to come anytime and detect in the water and on the property. Color me excited.
Our yard sale produced enough income that Sherry says I will be at the CMD Forum hunt next weekend. Besides I think she wants alone time..or so she says. I'll miss her while we are apart.
So ends a long day...and now my internal clock is messed up. Been up a hour or so and its now 3:33 AM...and I'll be singing in church today..God give me strength.
Thanks God for a great day yesterday and for Steve being able to come detect with me and help out with the yard sale. Thanks Steve. Maybe next time we can get some water hunting in.
