One Way Miss

If you went to a rectangle field, say 50' by 100' and checked everything going the long 100' vertical way from one end to the other, how much do you feel you will miss by not checking the 50' way? I hope you can visualize what I'm saying.
By the way...the weather is kinda clear but still too muddy to go out. Being bored I decided to go to the side of my yard where I checked dozens of time when I had my Whites eagle spectrum, knowing i really cleaned it up. A little while ago I went out there with the E Trac and found 7 more coins (clad and deep)...That says a lot because I feel I had the spectrum mastered.
Any way an answer to my question is appreciated.

if place infested with iron you have to check it from all posible angle--lines dont work, but if its clean its you probably finished, but in reality its very hard to check all corners and not to miss something. good luck

You could actually check the whole field front to back the long direction and then cross check it the short distance and still not get every target Coins can be on edge and very easy to miss, it's impossible to swing that coil over every square inch of a 5,000 square foot field and not miss something.

One way to help is to take about 4 survey flags and flag off a 20 x 20 area and work it from every direction. Take two of the flags and move up another 20 feet and work that block. It takes a lot of time but you can work inside your flags and try to insure you don't miss anything.

Just a suggestion

Very good idea...The smaller the area the easier it is to cover at one time....I sometimes start at the outer 6 feet and go all around the edge and work inward until I'm in the very middle.

Oh bummer. From the title I figure this was a storey about you getting stranded with your e-trac and a lovely young gal stopped to give you a ride. Oh well...
