Toltec II
Circa 1994-95.
I assembled it onto a new 3 pc. Umax series s-handle rod set-up that I had mounted the Bandido II on. Much better than the old metal 2 pc. upper s-handle and lower coil rod.
Bench tested it for about 1/2 hour and ran across the street for an hour or so. The night light inside the meter was a big help in the dark.
First coin was a Loonie, that was encouraging, dug some trash and some more coins, ended up finding 1 more Loonie, 2 quarters, 2 nickels and an even 10 pennies.
Total of $2.70.
Reminds me of the Tesoro Eldorado Umax I owned, really liked it. Except this Toltec has an extra feature, analog ID meter. Hoping the meter was going to be somewhat accurate
on Canadian clad. So far there's an area on the meter that Loons and Toons fall into as well as the other clad. 40 to 60 range seems to be where the Loons and Toons fall into. Have not actually dug a Toon to verify they do fall there.. Wish the weather was not turning for the worst for at least for the next week.................would have liked to put some more mileage on it.
Eventually would like to remount the Toltec to make it feel more balanced and lighter than what it feels. A bit weighty at roughly 4 1/4 pounds with the 8 AA and 1 9 volt batteries installed.
