No excuse I should have been more careful. But after digging junk and clad over and over I got careless. Fortunately it's not a "S" Anybody know where I can get a rubber shovel? LOL
 
Jeff&Maria it happens to the best of us.The only seated dime that I dug was about 4" and I hit it with a shovel thinking it was clad,you never know untill you dig.Great Barber and good luck.

Good thing it is a Common Well Worn Barber or I think you would still be :cry: your head off. Everyone here has hit at least a few Coins through the years so your not the only one. It really hurts when they are in High Grade Condition.:rage: Anyways, it's still Barber and for that matter Silver.:bouncy: Great find and hope your find a few more. Good Luck and HH.:detecting:
 
Wal-Mart has some Plastic shovels in the beach section...it comes with a purple bucket and swimmies with duckys on them! :wiggle:..LOL sorry couldn't help it! Oldies are good no matter what!! Congrats! :super:
 
Nice find! Don't feel too bad. We've all riced our share of oldies. I was working an empty one time. The ground was like concrete and I had just dug a zinc next to the sidewalk. My next target was another shallow zinc reading. I dug without being careful and was surprised to see my first Indian Head pop out from about 4 inches deep. I scratched the back of the Indian Head pretty bad. I was a happy and pissed at the same time :detecting:
