Oor coil on which machine?

I will be hunting what was an 1800's lumber yard in a couple of weeks. I will take the red racer and the fors core simply so i do not have to switch coils in this ultra nail infested trashy area. Which would you run stock and which would you put the oor on?

If it was me, I would see which one it balances on the best and go with that.

I wouldn't run a stock coil all you may need is the 5x10 that is all I use and I hunt heavy iron

From all the feedback I've seen, the two machines perform almost identically.
So I'd say use the stock coil on whichever detector you find it most comfortable on.

The small coil should be so lightweight that it's comfortable on either.

And with all the nails you say you'll encounter, I'd think you want to use ONLY the
small coil. It's far superior at picking out good signals between all the iron (or other) trash.
That's certainly true on the Racer and users say the same is true for the CoRe.

The home owner has an ace 350 with the large (11") coil...he says the machine beeps a dozen times on every swing and all he has found is nails. I will go help him learn his machine, but i think with his large coil he will struggle....

I would prob just put the "oor" coil on the CoRe machine (better ergonomics ) .......and if it really is iron infested as you think, then just use that coil through out the day. The larger coils will do good, but in dense iron they just can't match what the oor coil will do. If you don't want to hear the iron, then I would put the disc at around 19-20 to just knock out the nails and not much more. If you get into an area that isn't dense iron then the 5 x 10 is a great coil.
