Operating temp of GTI

The manual states the following..."Try to avoid temperature extremes as much as possible, such as storing the detector in an
automobile trunk during hot summer months or outdoors in sub-freezing weather."

You should be fine. Sometimes when hunting in colder temps. the screen slows down performing its functions. Although not recommended, I have hunted in -25, but I had the machine dressed with a wool toque and a hot pack. It worked flawlessly. :)

Short answer, no. I have been taking my GTI-2500 out during the winter months for a number of years. I have never ever had any problems due to cold weather with the machine. My only problems have stemmed from trying to dig into frozen ground.

Don't listen to John in Edmonton. He has the fever. Bad!

That was a joke folks. I have used my 2500 down around the freezing mark and di not notice any difference in operation or even battery life.
