Opinions needed PLEASE!!!!!:surrender:

Its weird seeing it scanned and its very cool looking at it in person. I have my doubts ...the coin is pretty thin, I dont know if maybe they were thin from the hammering...?????? I cant wait to meet the two curators this week. They will know for sure what it is.Im still new to this wonderful detecting world. I hope that its something thats important enough to share with everybody from massachusetts. I have been out of work now for 3 months and bills are stacking...so I hope that maybe this will compensate some funds to help with my bills. I just was offered a job ..I start monday....:yo:
Well your opinions are welcome always. Thanks everyone!!! Oh before I found this a bird pooped on my arm. I was pretty mad at the time.

That was just God trying to keep you humble.

The Paul Revere coin was duplicated, counterfeited, and were sold in Mass. Here's some pics of one a friend found, it's pewter.

Obverse of the tourist coin

Reverse of the tourist coin.
You had stated that you could clearly see the 16 in the date. The Revere coin is dated 1776.
I'm having a hard time seeing what you're seeing from the photos. Maybe if would lay a piece of paper over the coin and rub a pencil over it would show a better image. There are several Mass. coins from the 1600's so it might help.
Good find to me though.

I found a 177and the rest is cut off on the reverse. Also there is that wierd globe design , and there is lettering around the reverse.
Also does anyone see the date doubled litely just above to the right.
Please Note: I am so sorry about the quality of the scans. I am doing my best. Thank you all for your patience.
Just look and stare at them to the original. Its scary close.

as soon as your meds wear off I am sure you will notice that it is just a smashed peice of metal!!!!!

Thanks for that bid of confidence.
I will let you know soon about what I found. I am meeting with reps. of coin companys and a museam president.
I just want to know what it is.
Thanks for your support!!:beers:
