First, let me say that there are no end to trashy locations here on Long Island. But, how badly am I hurting my prospects by using "Coin" or "Coin and Jewelry" modes rather than a pro program or the "Relic" mode?

I've found more coins (and crown caps) in the past two weeks with the V3 than in the past five years with a BH, but nothing older than early 1970's (all pennies and dimes - odd nothing bigger) Either the good stuff (old silver/copper) isn't where I'm looking or I'm missing it completely by over-discrimination. One place I've been hunting is at a local park and generally find a coin every 3-4 minutes on average. I can't believe they would all still be there if this park was picked regularly, especially since I've found nothing newer than 1995 at that sitw. Detectors have improved a lot in 15 years!

I've seen some really nice finds on this forum but always wonder... how deep was it? what program was used? what did it sound like?

Thanks,
John
