Ordered A New Deus Yesterday !

E-Trac-Ohio

Well-known member
After reading forum posts and watching video's all Winter, I finally ordered a new Deus yesterday.

I went with the 9" coil because I hunted a lot of heavy iron sites, tight spots and areas that are very overgrown.
Due to the types of sites I hunt - the biggest coil I've used on my E-Trac for years is only 8".

The Deus ... weighs only two pounds, wireless, killer in heavy iron and it even updates itself ... wow !!!
Can't wait to get out in the field with this machine !

Good Hunting !

I too had the Etrac and the F75 LTD. All very good machines, but................. For speed, recovery I've been finding many goodies behind what I believed to be hunted out sites. Yes even for the Fisher and Minelab machines. Never thought I'd say that. I could write a small book on what I've discovered. But you'll have a blast, congratulations.

It's a whole lot easier on the shoulder at the end of the day. I got the 9" and I've been amazed at the depth you can get out of it.

Hey,E-TRAC OHIO..I'm new to the forum and just got a DEUS 11"... coming from an AT PRO... just curious why you decided on a DEUS..?
I myself was on the fence all winter long ...(a looooong one at that..!!! )Between the E-TRAC and the DEUS... Then finally pulled the trigger on the DEUS this spring.. I definitely have a learning
curve ahead of me. I only have a couple of hours under my belt with it right now. mainly I have
been running the "DEUS fast".,because of soil conditions..and a little "basic one" Any tips for a newbie would be greatly appreciated..:help:

back off on the sens when in lots of iron and find a good place to GB

How do you know how much to back off..? sensitivity effects depth does it not..? I was running it at stock sens..90 and GB- tracking...should I run manual GB..?
I am in heavily infested area...( several houses from 1800's nocked down...) when i first got the AT- PRO I was getting pretty frustrated..but I did get the hang of
it,and got hooked....I really should try a cleaner site till I start to get familiar with the DEUS language..keep the tips coming ...thanks..

Congratulations! You'll be amazed at how quick it is (recovery) and how light it is. There is a bit of a learning curve when coming from an E-trac, so be patient and give yourself some time--it is all about learning the nuances of the audio (the target id at depth is limited IMHO). Keep us posted on how you're doing--we look forward to seeing your finds. ---Cladiator

The E-Trac is a fantastic machine - been using mine for almost 7 years and I would never think of selling it.

But the Deus ... weighs only two pounds, wireless, killer in heavy iron and it even updates itself ... wow !!!

I hunt urban areas and even with the 11" coil can still separate trash from coins easily, your going to love it
