Ordering "Relics and Reminiscing" direct

Hi guys, won't take but a minute.

Someone emailed me today asking about ordering a copy of "Relics and Reminiscing" direct. I've emailed back with ordering information, but the email keeps coming back to me. They used a screen name of "snapshot"?

Just to let you know, yes, you can order direct from me, the author. More info can be found on the banner at the top of teh metal detecting forum.

I'm posting this information here in the hopes that the person interested in the book will have a chance to purchase it. My biggest concern is it's a gift or similar and a delay would not be a good thing.

So, for anyone interested, Paypal for $34.95 (that includes First Class shipping) using JustRich1@aol.com as your recipient.

Or, a personal check for the same amount can be mailed to:
Richard Walker
518 Rucker Drive
St. Matthews, SC 29135

Thank you for the interest. And my apologies to whoever emailed me. It came back three times.

Richard

Amazon, Waldensbooks, and Target were carrying the book through a middle man. Quite openly, these businesses (at no fault of their own) will soon experience stocking problems due to the middle man taking books for distribution but not keeping up with payments.

And, yes, I did write the book. :) I've been relic and coin hunting for the past 32 years. And, for the past 10, have been senior staff writer for our newspaper.

If you want to purchase a numbered copy through a business, Google search these guys: Gettysburg Electronics, Relic Hunter's Supply, Grey Bird Relics, Southern Treasures, Alan Workman Books, to name a few.

However, if you'd prefer a signed and numbered copy, you may be better ordering from me direct. I'm more than happy to personalize a copy anyone already has. But this weekend's Columbia, SC relic show may be my last to sell. (And the only reason for that is the number of book dealers carrying "Relics" has grown to such an number that I am competing with someone about everywhere I go. I don't want to compete with my carriers).

If you send an order through mail, please include your dad's name and something about him that would allow me to make it his and his alone when I personalize it.

Appreciate the questions and the interest, Dobbie.

my dad used to MD everyday but cant now due to illness. he also likes all the relics and oldies for he used to be into antique type business. now he does jewelry and has for many years.

Hi Dobbie, I'll still sell individually. I just won't be attending the relic shows where book carriers will be set up. No time frame. Just let me know when your dad would like one and I'd be happy to personalize it just for him.

Sounds like a fellow we could all learn from since he's been at it probably longer than any of us.

he has been in the hobby since the 70s i think. i remember when we went on vacation we always went beach hopping. we would hit several along the coast every summer. i never knew why he wouldnt take us to amusement parks. now i know. my mom recently told me that it was because he would MD most the vacation and by doing this he would finds enough to pay for our entire vacation with some left in pocket when we got back home. although he has taking us to a few places like disney land and wonderful vacation one year to san diego i will never forget. i cant blame him for hittin the beaches...:bouncy:

Nothing wrong with that! Just took a day trip to the beach. Swung the detector for about an hour and recovered 1 - quarter, 1 - dime, 4 - pennies, 1 - toy truck. Not a gold mine but it was fun playing around for a bit. Didn't do as well as your dad, but I can understand his wanting to get out and swing a machine some! :detecting:

hey can i use a money order to pay for a copy. i niether have a credit card or checks. i am one of those strictly cash type people. something my dad taught me. if you cant afford to pay for it in cash and down right own it then you dont need it. rules i live by. debt is something i really dont need.

We think alike, Dobbie. If I don't ahve the money for something, I don't get it. Just the way I am. Not judging others, of course. I just hate interest payments!

Whichever is easier for you, bud. MO or even cash, but I hate mailing cash.

I have a large relic show to attend tomorrow. But I'll pull you out the next lowest number so you won't be getting a number that's far higher than you would have had your MO arrived today.

Appreciate it, Dobbie. And you want this personalized to your dad, correct?

Richard
