Orientation of the M15 coil

Has anyone experimented with flipping the M15 so that the short end of the coil is forward and the long end facing backwards to see if it balances better and does it still perform as designed. When I looked into this there was some comments that the manufacturers designed it long end forward (as show in all their documentation) and that reversing it could potentially affect it's effectiveness. Seems like it shouldn't matter but hey ??? I find it heavy to use and am thinking it could be flipped backwards to make it balance better but not it its going to affect performance....
