Original Fisher Impulse

I got a like new Fisher Impulse a few days ago. It's in perfect condition (not a scratch on it) and it runs great. Must have been sitting in someone's closet for years. Using it sure brings back good old memories during the golden years (80's and 90's) when everyone wore a lot of gold. Very few water hunters back then and plenty of gold to be found. BS (before stainless) became so popular. I sure miss those days, I had the Impulse and a CZ-20 and didn't want or need anything else.

I to have one of those, dead easy to use for beach hunting. 🥰
Don't see many people using them.

Does the threshold adjust a lot in the water ( not smooth)
But I heard that it goes deep
Threshold is very sensitive to changes in water depth. I usually hunt parallel to the beach which helps a lot. I try to keep it adjusted to about 2 bars and I do have to adjust it fairly often. If the threshold goes silent it loses depth pretty fast. (that's the down side of this machine) The good side is it jumps on targets very fast. It will detect targets way out away from the edge of the coil and it pinpoints targets very well and it's very deep. It's mainly a water machine.
