OT: A very cool day yesterday - wish I had the camera handy all the time...

On the way back from the interview, I had to go into Roscommon, pay some bills then go to get tires rotated and make a trip to the nursing home to check to see if Mother-in-law's baby grand piano made it there safely before heading home.

Yesterday was great in that I had never seen a Bobcat before and saw one walking through a woods along a road. Couldn't get a picture as I was driving. Then saw a Hawk in a tree looking for lunch below. And then an Osprey looking for his lunch too.

I found the piano made it ok. Then when I got home Sherry said her Mom just got to the nursing home and she wanted some pics of her at the piano and of the flowers that her and her sister had gotten for her.

So back to the nursing home. I have to say Renee (Sherry's Mom) was ecstatic about being back to the nursing home and her piano was there...and I even came to see her. She was so happy. We went to get some photos of her playing the piano but there was a Bingo going on so here she is with her piano and with her flowers.

I came back home with the pictures and Sherry was in tears over the joy her Mom was having. But ya know nothing is the same unless you are there in person. So after Sherry got out of work and Casey was home from school we all went back to the nursing home to see Renee. This time Renee was able to play a song for Sherry. Renee has played piano since she was 2 or 3 and needs no sheet music...it all in her head and heart.

More tears. All the times we went to Renee's house we never heard her play the piano. She was always being the Hostess and she was busy doing the Hostess things but not playing music. This is the first time Sherry had heard her play in many many years.

Here is a generation picture: Grandma, Mother and Daughter....

Since Renee was unable to be at the nursing home when Casey had her prom night, the laptop had pictures of Casey and her boyfiend 'Zemer' so Grandma could see how beautiful her granddaughter and how handsome the boyfriend was dressed.

While sitting at the computer, I looked out this big bay window overlooking the lake:

Just after I took this and put the camera away down below on the grass this side of the trees was a fox walking through the area with something in its mouth (apparently found its lunch). Sherry, Casey, and Renee had never seen a fox in the wild before. So cool. It was a blessed day indeed.

Love the pic overlooking the lake! :)

My grandmother was a piano teacher for 40 some years. She had two pianos and an organ that she played all the time. When she died in 1985 she left me one of her pianos in her will. Now my 8 year old daughter is starting to play around on that piano and with no lessons has learned how to play a few simple songs just by playing by ear. I think we will be getting her some lessons. I miss hearing my grandmother play the piano, so those pictures of Renee by the piano brought back a lot of good memories for me. Thanks Pete

Pete, thank you so much for posting those precious photos of Renee and your family

Renee looks terrific at her piano. I bet she and I could play some duets together and sound quite well!

That is wonderful that she has her piano with her .

A Bobcat??? In the town where I live, it was all over several newpapers about some citizens seeing a Bobcat in their back yards

Wow! All the attention in the media about this bobcat..we were warned not to approach the animal, etc.....this was the talk of the town for several weeks as we were "shaking in our boots" hoping the dangerous bobcat wouldn't visit our yard...me? I would have loved to see a bobcat in my back yard...I love animals so much!

Pete, that is a terrific photo to three generations.. what fond memories these photos will invoke in future years.

Oh how precious is a family! Renee really looks young and being able to play the piano! I always wanted to, but since I am not musically inclined, I would only be able to play by taking lessons which I was never blessed to do! The pics of Sherry, Casey and Renee and of the land and the lake are really nice! What blessings you had with Renee and all the family and of the many animals God created for His and our joy! See there is a silver lining behind those black clouds of trials you all were going through! Keep the faith and give God praise in all things.....both the good and the bad! When the bad is over for awhile then everything is wonderful and beautiful!

God Bless!
Betty
