OT: Anybody from NY?

New member
Completely off-topic, but wanted to pick your brains. Our son's baseball team will be playing in Cooperstown,NY for a week in June. We are interested in visiting NYC after the tournament is over, but am unsure of what area to stay in and transportation into the city, etc. If anybody can provide any advice on seeing the the city for a couple of days on a budget and two children (12 and 9)...sorry for the rambling question, but any advice would be appreciated. We're from a small town in SC...so, not so familiar on getting around the big city.

Hey Greg...

Staying in the city is REALLY expensive. I couldn't even begin to recommend a place to stay. I'd say you should give a call to the NYC Convention and Visitor's Bureau. Here's the website:

http://www.nycvisit.com/home/index.cfm

At the bottom click on "accomodations". Staying outside of the city would be cheaper. Staying in Queens would be OK. To get to the city, you could just hop on a Subway... it's pretty easy. The Visitor's bureau site has places to visit, etc.

Let me know if you have any questions after looking around the website.
