I was really glad that Greg posted his interest in other hobbies, along with the great pictures. It was only a few days ago that I was wondering about what other hobbies and interests my forum family have. I'm sure I'm not the only one here who would love to hear about the other hobbies and/or interests! How about sharing with the rest of us?

My other hobby is photography. I have a web site listed below that contains a bunch of galleries of a bunch of pictures.

Well, I collect relics from 5 railroads, especially date nails. Most of these were found by detecting or dump digging. Here's one set, the Southern Pacific RR. Some of the nails are priced at 1-2 hundred bux each but most in the 10 dollar range.

Also, I collect Cyclone & Relock porcelain fence signs. They are fired in a kiln so dont usually rust away like all the others. They are selling for about 20 bux each now. Something for everyone :) Steve in so az

Now that we are retired, we love to travel and our hobbies are being utilized more fully.

Aircraft museums, ocean beaches, mountains, Ghost towns, Mining camps, etc. Most of all, we enjoy exploring life together in Gods creation and the people He puts before us to meet.

Enjoy the Harley and also flea markets, yard sales, and junk shops looking for bargains on Collectable items. I also love building model cars and styling them in the 50's custom and hot rod styles. Can't really do that right now as I'm still in the Nomad mode with no permanent home base. :)

Mo - Have you visited this one before ? I was by there just yesterday while out detecting. They have a kazillion aircraft to see -you can walk right up to them. There was a big ol plane that looked like a guppie or something. Really fat & tall. And those strato bombers are incredible huge up close. Tucson is a good storage place - very little rain.

I'm with you on a lot of things you like to see, especially air museums. If you ever get out this way (Oregon), we have two remarkably good ones. One is at Tillamook. The museum is housed in a old blimp hangar that they used to patrol the coast with. The second is in McMinville. It is the resting place of the Spruce Goose. That is a great museum, and that plane is sooooo enormous! This past summer we went to the A.F. museum in Dayton. It was the first time I had been there since I was about 8 years old. Pretty nice!(but not the best)(I was disappointed that they no longer had the XB-71 that I remembered as a kid).

Detecting, Geocaching, digging old bottles, gold prospecting, photography, and I am sure there is much more! HMMMMM!!!

Here are a couple of pictures I took on our trip to the Coast last summer, and you are right they ARE great places to visit and don't forget the Tillamook Cheese Factory. Great Samples!:clapping:

Recognize this rentasquid? This is the Tillamook Blimp hanger, Tillamook, Oregon. If I recall correctly it is the largest free standing wood structure in the world.

This is the first type of Helicopter I flew for the Army, it brought tears to my eyes when I saw it. It's in the museum with the Spruce Goose and you can see its tail directly behind the rotor mast.

Barbara and I standing in front of the outboard sponson of the Spruce Goose and you can see the entrance to the cargo hold of the goose on the left side of the picture.

Hope you enjoy the pictures.

My other hobbies are amateur radio and chainsaw carving. However I have kinda slacked off on amateur radio lately but I still get in some chainsaw carving. For you folks that like Aircraft Museums, their is a great one out here in Merced California at the old Castle Air Force Base. Appropriatly named " Castle Air Museum.
