Out detecting yesterday

Beautiful day yesterday and as a reward for a job well done had to reward myself with some detecting. Guess God just did not want me to get rid of any of my detecting things.

Sherry has been without a kitchen sink for well over a year...as you remember for those who have been around for awhile it was plugged from one end to the other and my son-in-law had gotten acid on his skin. Well that got cleared up finally only to have the faucet leak like a sieve all over so had to replace the kitchen faucet. We thought our son-in-law could use some extra money and let him do it. Well, seems the younger generation prefers to take the easy way to do things. I ended up doing the job myself, taking time, patience and God's help. Sherry was happy to see she could use the sink once again. Yaaaaa!!!

So had to reward myself and go detecting. The old ball field did yield a couple wheat pennies (I think they were 1946 and 1956 - haven't cleaned them yet) and found a couple Memorial pennies in the same hole. Went to the township playground and found a clad quarter

and a Mason jar - well a Ball jar with lid. On top of a table in the picnic area

Went to another township park and found nothing. I did take some pics from that park of the lake

Not a big park but sometimes find a few coins.

At least I finally got out. Hope all had a great day yesterday and a better one today.

Blessings to all

Nice looking park on the lake. I bet ya had a relaxing time! :)

I have...unfortunately it is mostly trash and few of anything good.

The lake itself in a few other places has produced lots of wheat pennies - many in the 1919 era, some buffalo nickels, even a boat anchor...man talk about a FULL scoop trying to dig it up.

That's where one of the class rings came from was the lake....also the lake is where I got Swimmer's Itch last year.

I keep buying fishing licenses each year, have about 15 - 20 fishing poles (no boat) and haven't fished probably in the last 3 years since moving up here.

Even bought a state park sticker for the van so I could detect/fish from the boat launches - only to find they require a different sticker...mine is only good to get into state parks - doesn't even cover campgrounds....DNR sure has their way of prying money for ones hand.

Glad you got out :detecting: Pete and having fun doing it is the best! Hope you get out again and find lots of nice goodies. Yeh, the younger generation don't know the quote: When you do something....do it well....or don't do it at all! But a person has to learn how to do the job and then they can do it well, as practice makes perfect...'tis said also! :) Long ago if someone did a bad or lousy job then they had to do it over and over until it was done as it was supposed to be! But the impaitient parents end up doing it themsleves and the poor kids never learn or go away feeling badly and (of this) I was guilty! It's a two-way street and I learned some things the hard way!

God Bless!
