outer banks NC

Hi folks.
I just found this forum and the amount of excellent information and topics is amazing. I will be in the outer banks NC in
July and was wondering what I need to know about hunting on the beach? I understand that it is OK from Nag's Head north to Virginia.
Besides checking in with the local police dept. what else can I do to avoid any hassles?

Good question! I'll be at Ocracoke next week and was planning on hitting some remote beaches. I believe someone told me it was a National Park? If so, I may leave the detector at home.
