Outlaw- Disc Mode to All Metal

What would cause the Outlaw to automatically go from Discr. to AM without touching a switch? The threshold blasts when it does this and can't be adjusted. The Retune button corrects this sometimes.

Sounds like something wrong with that one... It shouldn't be doing that. You might want to call Tesoro and mention it to Rusty. He may have you send it in.

Definitely sounds like something wrong....

Well my Mojave and comPadre do a really weird battery test sounds when I put in bad batteries. So maybe put a new name brand one in and try it. But sounds like maybe a bad connection somewhere.

Would bad batteries do this ??

That's probably the first thing you should check. Stick a new one in and see how it works before calling Tesoro.
If it continues to switch itself, I'd suspect there's some dirt in the pushbutton switch.

Low voltage hasn't ever made mine act weird, but I change 'em on most of my Tesoros when the battery check has a short duration. I say "most", 'cause on my favorite Bandido, it still gives a long check tone even when battery is about to go. With that one, I just replace it after every few outings. I always keep a spare with me just in case..
