Over the years with the CZ’s I have used.

Probably 75 percent of the time I was using the 5” coil, with pretty good depth and separation in iron, and quite a bit lighter on the swing. Any comments?

Yes the little 5" hockey puck is a good coil.
I still use the stock 8" most the time. I like to put the 10.5" on once I think I have a site cleaned out and coins are deep. But it can get heavy after awhile and I never liked hip/chest mounting. But it can pull the deepies on edge out.

One good thing about that 10.5 inch coil is that you have to go slow...which helps in terms of weight. Much easier to manage since you don't have to swing it like a crazy person.

that some larger coins near-surface will give the overload signal like on large targets.
Add to that the 8" loop with sensitivity turned down is about as good in iron infestation, but when it comes to the max depth the 8" is empirically deeper.
