overload coil

backintime

New member
Hello,

For a year I have the Teknetics T2, It's a great machine.
There is one problem, after 1/2 year I have a problem with the search coil.
When I turn on the detector there is an overload coil signal.
I have returned the coil to the shop and get a new one (guaranty).

Again after a 1/2 year the same problem, but I have to tell that I have used the MD a day long in very, very foggy weather for up to 6 hours.
When the MD is several days in a warm house, the problem seems to be over.

Have anyone else the same problem and how can it be fixed ?
I do not remove the connector between the MD and coil (only two times in a 1/2 year), that is not the problem.

Thanks for the answer

Are there any better search coils at the time ?

I would send the whole detector for warranty repair........I've never had that problem with mine. This is not good, everytime someone has a problem with a T2 it places another "strike" against it, placing it on the I don't know if I want that one or not list. The T2 is the BEST Tid detector that I have used......MO

sounds like you are getting moisture into you coil, I've had it happen twice, once submerging it into shallow streams and another time on a cold morning with heavy dew

I had the same problem last year and returned it then have it come back the same way. Overload signal! It was not the cable it was a bad coil.
Exchanged it for a working coil and everything was fine. 6 months later the overload signal was back again this time it`s the pin cable. Right now it`s been 2 months since I sent it in to teknetics. My T-2 also gave me overload signals in some spots of a sandy dry river when it was working properly.
