Eric,
Do any of your machines have a nonmotion mode?
If not can one be installed on the deepstar?
Whats the largest land coil that the deepstar has available?

Hi John,
The very first Deepstar I made was both motion and non-motion. The required mode was selected by a switch. In the non-motion mode the zeroing was done by a pushbutton. In addition to the usual 11in and 15in coils, this Deepstar could also run with a 30in square coil. It was purchased by a cache hunting syndicate in the UK who were very successful with it. When I last heard from them about two years ago, they were headed for the US. The predecessor of the Deepstar, which was the Goldquest also had a motion/non-motion switch and a reset pushbutton, but generally speaking, people preferred to just have motion mode so it was eventually left off later models. It would be possible to modify a current Deepstar to have both modes; at a small additional cost of course.
Eric.
