P.I. METAL DETECTORS INFO PLEASE!

I would really appreciate any feedback on your experiences with P.I. (Pulse Induction) metal detectors. I am considering buying one (probably one of the Minelab GPX's) but first, I need to justify buying one because of the high costs, anywhere between $3500-$5700 ish.
My main question would be just how deep they go detecting average size targets such as deep coins and rings etc;.? I realise that they do not have any discrimination on them so you would use them only in non trashy or selected areas such as the beach or desert (which are both within an hour's ride from where I live, SoCal) so I'd like to buy one but only if they go substantially deeper than my Safari.
I think any information you can share [size=large][/size]would be greatly appreciated by all!

PI are primarily similar to VLF when it come to deciding which type to buy. Some PI are designed to work in the gold fields and have better sensitivity to small gold deeper than a VLF gold machine. Beach hunting PI are use primarily in the salt water environment and provide deeper sensitivity to buried targets than do VLF. First decide what kind of search environment you will be searching in than and purchases one designed for the environment.

[size=large][size=large]Thanks Jerry and croaker! 15 inches is a good depth to detect items as small as a bobbypin and fish hook so I will definately consider the White's P.I. [size=large][/size] I have never owned or metal detected with an ETrac but would like to when I get the chance.[/size][/size]
