Packing it in for 2006

MassSandman

New member
I've only been hunting since April and tomorrow I must go in for rotator cuff surgery which will prevent me from swinging and digging for awhile. Thanks to you folks' suggestions and help, my 2006 are meager compared to most of you but I garnered about $85 in clad, seven rings ( 5 silver, 2 gold) 4 silver quarters, 9 silver dimes, 5 Buffalo nickels and thirty-three wheaties. Also found were several 19th century buttons and a handful of musket balls. Don't know how long recovery is but I will be primed for 2007.
HH and Merry Christmas to you folks! ~Rich

Sounds like a fair year. Buttons are cool. Save them buttons till you check them out.

Still not a bad track record for such a short time MassSandman! Silver, clad, relics and jewelery! Hope everything goes well, and a speedy recovery. Happy Hunting Grounds,

Savage.

That is what this wonderful hobby is all about. Going out and having fun along with having hopes of either running across old coins worth a small fortune or finding Jewelery, and lets not forget about Relics for all you War Time Fanatics, is what makes great memories that you can talk with other about and relive those good ol' days. Even digging Clad puts a smile on a person's face at the end of the year because it adds up faster than one expects. You did alright and there is always more where that came from waiting for you next year. I hope you make a speedy recovery MassSandman and you will be back out swinging in no time. Merry Christmas to you and your family and also to all the other folks here on Findmall and have a Happy New Year.:thumbup:

I had rotatory cuff surgery in 2003 from a BAD work related injury.
They put a BUNCH of ligament anchors into the bone after sewing up several tears in the cuff area.
The swelling was so bad that they had to pack my shoulder in ice for 2 hours before they could put in the external stitches and close everything up.
Not trying to scare you, don't know how bad your injury is, either way, it's not gonna be FUN.
I slept in a easy chair for like 2 months because I couldn't stand to lay down in the bed with it after the surgery.
Hope you have a nice lite weight detector to use for awhile, forget the Explorer for 8 months to a year ... at least in my case. But swinging something lite WILL HELP.
Well Wishes
Mike

Hope your surgery goes well and you'll be out there hitting the beaches before you know it. I think you did pretty well since April Rich and probably a lot better than some other fellows. Best of luck and a happy holidays to you and your familty. HH.

Like Mike Bearden I had rotator cuff surgery probably 2002,
I slept for 2 or 3 months in the spare room, propped up with pillows and cushions in the corner of the room...

You'll be pretty sore and need a lot of TLC!

Tell your family to be ready to spoil ya rotten!

Not the best of operations ~ but hey,I'm still detecting.

Good luck mate.

Snowy

I have been out of action for just on 17 weeks due to a nasty fractured right tibia and it is tough not to think about detecting especially with a recently purchased used ExpII sitting next to my X-Terra 70.

It is tough since it is summer here in Australia and I have another 5 weeks to go til I can even start putting weight on the leg. Mind you rehab will be great since I'll have a most excellent reason to get on the beach and into the parks to practice with it. :bouncy:
