J-man and I started out early today to hit the local beaches, but then it started to get really nice and we decided to head out to Long Island NY. Tide was against us but weather was nice.
Hit Nickerson Beach first......long walk to get to the water......few targets.
On to Jones Beach State Park. Huge beautiful beach with lots of sand dunes. Many people walking around today, some targets but no gold today.
Stopped on the way home to have the best pizza in the world.....says Gourmet Magazine!......and it is!!

Best tasting pizza........cheese

World famous White Clam pizza, fresh shucked clams, fresh garlic and olive oil.....no cheese....no sauce baked in an oven at 1000 degrees

Very nice pics indeed ... jones beach is very good but only at summer time (rough ocean, soft sand, $5 fee), nickerson beach is the same only at summer time, that's what i think...wait for summer and visit CI beach...:twodetecting:

Ok Bobbie, I giving away a secret. Spent most of my High school years hanging on the beaches down there. I you go back there, Head south of Lido beach about 5 miles to Long Beach and work your way south until you get chased off the private beaches.

Jones is only about a 10 minute drive for me... That beach has been sanded in like that forever :) Need a good Nor'easter :) Good nut considering!
