Panasonic Batteries

 I think this subject has been brought up before but I have some ideas as to why Tesoro sends Panasonics batteries with their units. I tried several different brands in my uMax units including rechargeables and they ALL were difficult to load. The little plasic door was hard to close too. The Panasonic batteries are slimmer and fit perfectly in the Tesoros and the door shuts easily. So I think this is why they are preferred. Problem is I don't know where to buy any. Any ideas?

You may be on to something, I don't have any problems with my Tejon and I use anything I can find. If your owners manual says your machine runs on AA batteries I would think they would have taken in considerations for any differences in battery sizes from different manufactures.

You may want to report your problem to Tesoro, you shouldn't need to use any one brand.

I haven't checked and you didn't say but I assume the uMax runs on AA batteries.

reddirtfisher, try a website called eBatteriesToGo.com. they have all kinds of batteries in bulk at a reasonable price including panasonic brand.

 Thanks for the replies and some good ideas on battery purchases. On my posting I was talking about the 9 volts,... not the AA's. I used to have a Toltec II and any size AA or brand AA worked fine in it.

I run Duracell's in my Vaquero and Sidewinder without any problems, plus recently I have found them at Lowe's for $5.97 for a two pack. Just wish they would last a little longer in the Vaquero, max life I can get is about 10 hours.

I have used 9 volt Energizer, Duracell, Rayovac, with no problems. I think that some of the non name brands run alittle larger plus they tend to swell in the heat. I found a few places on the big auction site that sells 9 volt alkaline Panasonics. I see someone has 24 of them for $30.96 plus $6.99 shipping.

I've been running true 9V rechargables in the Vaquero and pinpointer. Got real tired of buying batteries all the flippen time. The $45 initial cost has been well worth it. I get about 7-8 hours out of them in the V before I recharge. I always carry 2 regulars in the glovebox for emergencys. They seem to be a bit of a tight fit,but no problem getting them in and out.

Try radio shack brand..Made by energizer....they usually have some good deals on them and there life span seems to last the longest for me..AA or 9V
