Park surrenders 1,000th coin to Omega:detecting:

I just found my 1,000 th coin from a nearby local park, that was developed in the 1970's. I've been using the Omega there since spring. Averaged about 25 coins per hour. Its now slowing down to about 10 per hr.
I ve used all 3 coils, the 11" and 5" , being the most popular. 169 quarters, 256 dimes, 21 nickels, 554 pennies. One silver ring, one gold plated ring, and a few medallions. Not much iron, alot of aluminum. Happy Hunting.

Seems that nickels are always the lowest percentage. Do you find a lot of pull tabs when looking for nickels? On the other hand great work, always fun to find coins of any year.

Nice finds! I wish I had the time to hunt that much! But the wifey and kids keep that from happening! So, I must :surrender:

Anyway, how big was the park, small, medium, large? What areas produced the coinage? Anything in particular?

Thanks in advance,
bubbadirect

So I did not want to dig 100 tabs for every nickel, but rather only dug the real tight numbers. The park is tiny, but has 4 baseball diamonds, no tot toys. All coins were found in the spectator areas,or from the parking area to the diamonds. I'll try the playing fields after baseball season is done.

Hi Mick,

Have you got your 8000 back from coiltek and give it a go yet. Interested in seeing how it goes with our $1 and $2 coins AND SCREW CAPS.
