peaceful funeral

7centsworth

Well-known member
I went to a funeral today, he was the pastor when I started going to church at the age of eight. He also was the preacher who helped my dad start his walk with GOD. He was absolutely called by GOD to be a preacher. He led so many people to JESUS. At the funeral his wife got up and spoke about him and his daughter sang a song. The holy spirit was moving in the place like no other funeral I have ever been to. There was such a peace in there it was amazing. It was nice to go to a funeral a know with out a doubt that they went to heaven. He walked the walk and talked the talk till the end. He was a preacher and friend. Although he was pastoring a diffrent church now he was still a close friend. One person everyone was glad the met. He went to be with JESUS after battling cancer at the age of 61. I went prepared for a sad day and it turned out to be almost a worship service . I wish more were like that. GOD is an awesome GOD we should never take him for granted. We should walk the full walk like my friend did and not give up because we get tired. I am really going to watch myself and try to be more like Christ.
Just thought I would share my amazing experience. It really lifted my spirits I hope will do the same for you!!!!

For sharing! I can't imagine how people go through the loss of a loved one whithout Jesus.
Sounds like his funeral was a celebration of life! :)

It sure was a celebration of life. I am going to miss him , but I am so happy for him.

Thanks for sharing the experience. A funeral for a departed Christian should be a celebration. They have moved on to be with our Lord and Savior. I am thankful for those who preach at funerals, and also share the gospel to those in attendance. Sometimes that is the only time they will come in contact with the Word. Like you, I need to watch myself and strive to be more like Christ.
