Does anyone know what kind of button this is ? It's 2 piece and may say Scovill & Co on the back but I'm not sure as it is really hard to read. Thanks for looking. Bob

The way Penna is written is very similar to your button.
I noticed that Scovill & Co was manufacturing buttons during the civil war, but didn't see any off hand that matched a Pennsylvania unit... <img src="/metal/html/shrug.gif" border=0 width=37 height=15 alt=":shrug">
 
nice pic, but I didn't even know you needed a license to hunt metal.
 
...you'll give the gov't ideas on how they can tax us even more. After 30 years, I just found out that I can't operate a dang 5-1/2 hp outboard on an aluminum boat this summer without getting first getting a license. Blah... <img src="/metal/html/tongue.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":b">
