Thanksgiving Day we will be at the church in Harrison serving Turkey dinners to the less fortunate and others.

Our telephone had been out of order and was finally repaired yesterday (its been 3 weeks without the home phone because the phone company said everything was fine up to our box outside. At the box I got nothing...dead.) Took em three weeks to figure out I was right - it was someplace between the pole and their station. They found a downed cable...with our phone line in it further down our street.

Anyway, we have been unable to get any calls so I still don't know what plans my sister had for Thanksgiving. She had mentioned the family would get together about a week before Thanksgiving. She didn't say when for sure or where. So I have to get back to here and get some details.

I'm thinking of pulling the batteries out of the detectors so they don't corrode over the winter inside the detectors. This snow if it melts off would help to knock down some weeds for swinging...but...not sure with deer season here (archery now, gun on the 15th) if it is safe to be anywhere near the woods..such as the ghost town.

Not sure how sandy areas will be...this snow could freeze the moisture in the sand making using a scoop difficult.
Supposed to snow some more then get rain and some more rain..how the ground will be is unknown. Guess we can play it by ear. At this point we are at the mercy of the weather. Don't think we will have the mild winter we had last winter.

told my wife they had 2 inches on the ground...Im thinkin I will just put the detectors away for the year this weekend....As for the day after Turkey day;Im thinkin it will just be time to snuggle up to my wife, play with the dogs;pick on my father in law:thumbup:,go for walks,etc.....going in the woods is NOT a good idea at that time of year-I'd HATE to be mistaken for an anti-hunter-WHICH IM NOT-by some irate guy with a rifle:unsure::(...Ill probably get some books from the library, bein Im not goin up north on Thanksgiving,now....

have to take a hunter safety class...so they know that deer do not wear blaze orange...I think that should be obvious...without having to be 'educated'.

They should hold up a picture of a human and a picture of a deer...if they are bright enough to pick the right one to shoot then maybe let them have a license....they should not buy a gun unless they get a license that I are smart enough to know what a deer looks like.

My Dad and I went hunting one time...buckshot was raining down on us. I have never gone back hunting since.

I found yet another thing blocking your emails to me...think I got them all deleted now if ya want to send me a blank test email and see if it gets through...if not I'll scratch my head and wonder what I missed and where. Thanks Bill
