Photo trick advice needed

I tried placing a glass paine up about 6 inches off the desk with a white paper on the desk. The bottle then shows no shadows. The second pic is the bottle on the paper with no glass under it. Question : are there other ways to eliminate shadows ? To get the bottle clearer/brighter do I put higher watt bulbs in ? When I take pics in this area they come out ok usually. I have a Sony Mavica 85. Thanks for any advice you can this beginner. Steve in so az

Flourescent light. I had a studio for years and I can't even figure out why my computer isn't acknowledging my RCA digital. go figure!!
Shadows too are all in the light. Move the light, moves the shadow. Difuse the light, it becomes hazed out. move the subject further from the background then set light 45 degrees above it, the shadow will hide behind the subject. good luck. mike P ma.
