PI battery conversion

SWMO Mark

New member
I have a old CZ20 that doesnt work anymore. I had considered putting a Whites PI in the houseing since there is a lot less problems with the CZ20 houseing leaking. The CZ20 runs on 4 9 volt batteries. I was wondering if it would be possible to run this battery pack on a Whites PI, for extended battery life. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Mark

Hi Mark,

I don't know how the batteries are wired in the CZ20 but you really need 12V for the Surfmaster board. As far a I recall, the CZ20 case is the same as the Impulse case. The Impulse battery recess would take 8AA cells plus holder, which is what you need. Check this on your CZ20 case. I do agree that this is a good case design and even if the battery compartment leaks, this doesn't affect the electronics.

Eric.
