PI cable wrap

I have been using the Garrett Sea Hunter Mark II for a while and am very comfortable with it. I am changing to the larger coil and started to wonder, what is the proper way to wrap the coil cable around the shaft? Should it be loose the entire length, or tightly wrapped? Or what?

You never want coil wire loose on a PI, the coil may read it if it moves. Wrap in tighr around shaft and secure with velcro. Either circle shaft and secure every short distance with velcro and wrap excess around upper shaft, or take one wrap at bottom secure and run it straight up back of shaft securing with velcro along the way and wrap excess around upper shaft.
