PI for relics... I know people use the TDI and the InfiniumLS but what about the Pirate?

I've been thinking about getting an InfiniumLS for hunting relics in bad ground and where they everything left is deeper than VLF will reach. I've been leaning toward the Infinium because of it's price being so much lower than the TDI, plus if I ever get to the beach I can use it there... but that really isn't a deciding issue.

I was looking at the Detector Pro website and I see that they advertise the Pirate and Pirate Pro as also a land machine and it has disc.

Does anyone have an opinion on using these detectors for relics like I mentioned above? Will it work as well as the Infinium or the TDI ?

Thanks in advance!

I use the DetectorPro Headhunter with the 11" coil. I think it is an awesome and very deep seeking beach detector. You can't beat the price. And without a control box, on the shaft or around my waist, I can swing all day.

I have never had mine underwater. I don't trust the seal on the headphones and the fact that the ear cup that contains the batteries and electronics does not lock shut.

The Detector Pro headhunter is a VLF unit with fixed Ground balance and runs at 2.4khz (like a 1280x), It works ok at the beach but will be a bit jittery in the surf like most VLF machines and will not get remotely close to detecting at the same depth as the likes of the Infinium.

The Detector pro pulse is a better beach machine than the VLF but no discrimination;I am not to certain about the idea of having a Pulse transmitter wrapped around my head.

The tesoro sand shark(very good value), garrett Seahunter MK2, Whites duel Field or even an CS4PI (not waterproof) would be a much better proposition. That is just my opinion, there are a lot of people who like the Headhunter Pro.

PS,
The only one of the detectors mentioned in my previous post that would do well in high to extreme mineralised areas is the Infinium. the Detector Pro headhunter is OK in quiet ground. the other PIs will sound off in mild iron mineralisation and on some hot rocks.
