PI Pro coil housing thickness?

Ytcoinshooter

Well-known member
I've been using the PI Pro for 7+ years. I am trying to find out how thick the shielding / cool housing is.

Talked to Whites service in Va. The other day. If the wear on the top of the coil housing went through - obviously it would blare, and be whacky. Service confirmed my question about there being foam injected and the coil housing being reasonably thick. Sheilding is important and thery are well built. I still plan on swapping to the non-buoyant coil as all my use is in the water. For now I found a way to eliminate play that caused the loop support to wear against the coil top. I just don't like coils that readily float and want to "lift". Any play between the loop support and coil causes chafing as the tip of the coil wants to lift up and repeatedly contacts the bottom of the loop support. Maybe down the road a DF for me if the make a non buoyant coil.
