Picked a few more from the field

Got back out and pulled a few more goodies from the beanfield yesterday. Started off with the IH cent in the first row I walked. Hit the seated dime a couple rows later. But it took the better part of the afternoon to find that Shield nickel. In retrospect, I should have changed locations after the dime! Ain't that the way it goes? HH Randy

I can't believe she was "sittin" around waiting for you to snatch her up!!!

Congrats on the nice finds Digger! Question? Any particular reason you hunt this field? I mean how did you know you might find old coins there?

This field, or what is left of it, was used as a "make shift" fair ground back in the late 1800's. Locals got together to sell their produce and show their livestock. I've been hunting it (off and on) for 25 years, with a 7 year break in the late 90's due to change of ownership. Unfortunately, commercial development has taken over most area, and what use to be the "hot spots" are now covered with concrete and structures. I'm confident there are still a few old coins scattered around the area. Afterall, people wandered all over this parcel while making their way to the main events. But as the years have gone by, it's become increasingly difficult to find them. At this point in time, I'm confident the memories of prior hunts outweigh the remaining coins! But I still enjoy the hunt! HH Randy

Nice finds Digger!!!
I wouldn't mind putting in a little time to get results like that.
Congradulations,

Funny though, your memories of hunts gone by field, still produces older coins than my oldest coins. That is ok though, well on this end anyhow. At that end... you still got some good old coins, ooo yeah. I am sure that there is a seated silver here for me somewhere.

Nice digs
Jeff

Congrats on your continuing haul! Sure shows the value of research and knowing what was there in the past. Gotta love it when they turn the soil over on those old sites! Sounds like a great spot, especially if it's still producing seated and injuns after all your time spent there! NICE hunting!
